Client is a leading children’s book publisher and provider of early childhood educational content. The Book Fair LOB contributes about 60% of Client’s revenue with focus on selling children’s books in partnership with Schools and Libraries.
What challenges did they face?
Client faced tough competition from affordable content aggregators providing curated content via devices. This led to a shift in strategy, moving from BTB to BTC and establishing eCommerce channels at a fast pace. The client relied on their product engineering team, but discovered skill gaps across multiple technology areas. Client is the Global leader in used vehicle auction solutions for dealerships, banks. Car-rental agencies and auto manufacturers. Through a network of more than 100 physical, digital and mobile auctions, provide their clients with choices to connect and transact business how and when they want. Each year, client offer nearly 6 million used vehicles for sale and facilitate transactions representing nearly $60 billion in value.
What challenges did they face?
The client was working to streamline their source-to-pay processes and improve the customer experience by creating self-service solutions. This required designing UI/UX and integrating with Oracle EBS Application for different users. The client initially started this project with the help of a System Integrator and inhouse engineering teams but needed additional skills and scale, so they began looking for a partner with a broad and deep technology portfolio to align with their overall program roadmap.
How did RIGHTSHORING team solve their problem?
The client came to RIGHTSHORING and asked for a proof of concept (POC) for three critical business needs. The RIGHTSHORING team in the US connected the client with two pre-vetted service providers who demonstrated their proposed solutions over two weeks. The client aimed to upgrade their digital and eCommerce platform for a uniform user experience and omni-channel go-to-market strategy but faced delays due to the time taken to finalize the architecture and build consensus. Despite working with a Global System Integrator, the client struggled to free up internal staff for the program, leading them to seek a dependable secondary platform for on-demand access to business and IT talent with deep expertise in product management, program governance, and UI/UX design.
